Julia Thomsen has teamed up with Marie and Hollie Kenniff to create “The Distance That Held Us”, a cinematic composition that offers listeners a much-needed reprieve from the noise of everyday life. Released via Nettwerk Music Group, this collaboration showcases the power of three talented composers uniting under a shared vision.

The piece begins with a subtle rising intensity, gradually building momentum before easing listeners into a moment of stillness. From there, the track unfolds into a serene and deeply calming experience. Natural soundscapes interweave throughout, evoking a sense of space and distance from the pressures of daily life.

The string arrangements are particularly striking, moving with elegance and warmth across the composition. Layered with soothing piano melodies and an ambient backdrop, the track delivers an immersive journey that is both full-bodied and comforting. Every note feels intentional, drawing the listener into a world of reflection and calm.
